Pupil returns to where it all began

A Knowsley school are celebrating the return of one their ex-pupils, in 2007 one of their outstanding children, Katy Hamlin, left Cronton CE Primary School to start the next journey of her education in high school.

Always an exceptional student, Katy built on the foundations learned at Cronton CE, and continued to thrive, moving through high school, college and university, finally completing a PGCE course with Mersey Borough Initial Teacher Training.

Headteacher Mrs Thomson, said: “We are so very pleased to say that she graduated this year as a fully qualified teacher, and we were proud to offer her a teaching position here at Cronton.

“She started with us as a pupil in September 1999 and started with us as a teacher in September 2019 – almost exactly 20 years later, coming full circle from being here as a child to joining the excellent teachers in our school supporting the next generation of children”.
