Stephen shortlisted for the TES Schools Awards 2019

Stephen Johnson from Northwood Primary School in Kirkby has been shortlisted for the School Business Manager of the year award at the Tes Schools Awards 2019.

The Tes Schools Awards, celebrates the extraordinary commitment, quality and innovation shown by teachers and support staff across the UK who are raising the standards of education and making a positive impact on the personal and academic success of students and the wider community.

Stephen has been nominated in recognition is for the fabulous food project where every pupil who goes to Northwood Primary School receives a delicious breakfast and healthy lunch, all for free, every day, all year round!

This is seen as a massive help for local families and helps improve attendance.
It is a proud moment, not just for Northwood School in Kirkby, but also for Knowsley Local Authority.

Tes editor Ann Mroz said: “It is wonderful to see such great ideas and excellent practice emerging from our schools and teachers, especially at a time when schools are under financial pressure. We had a record number of entries this year and the standard was very high, so all those shortlisted should be very proud: it’s an extraordinary achievement to be on this shortlist”.

The winners will be revealed at the gala awards evening at the Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, London on Friday 21 June 2019
