Plans in for Huyton’s mixed-use Earlsfield Park development

Plans are in for Ion’s Earlsfield Park scheme which proposes a 40-acre employment park and 160 new homes in Knowsley.

The developer, in collaboration with Knowsley Estate, has submitted an application for the North Huyton regeneration project.

The Knowsley employment park is being pitched as a ‘hybrid’ model supplying demand for advanced manufacturing, research and development facilities and sub-regional logistics business space alongside traditional office and workshop spaces within a semi-rural parkland setting.

Steve Parry, managing director of Ion, says: “The employment park is an important focus of this development. With the launch of the Knowledge Quarter, Liverpool and Merseyside are set to become UK leaders in the field of science and technology innovation.

“Our vision for Earlsfield Park is that it is instrumental in supporting the regional direction by becoming a specialist environment that supports science, technology and advanced manufacturing.

“The beauty of the development is not just in its location and accessibility but through the flexibility of the design which caters for the demands of anything from manufacturing to laboratories, small start-ups or the corporate HQs of global businesses.”

Elsewhere within the Earlsfield Park development, there are also plans for a pub/restaurant, a petrol station and a hotel.

If approved the development will sit alongside the existing Lord Derby Playing Fields and Oak Plantation, which Ion will use to create recreational space for residents and workers nearby.
